Vietnam is seen as both one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change in the world, as well as one of the fastest growing emitters of GHG emissions.

1.5% of Vietnam’s GDP is lot to climate hazards every year, leaving 45 million people affected over the last 30 years.

Morgane is a Circular Economy Officer at the United Nations Development Programme and is currently working on the National Adaptation Plan (NAP - 2021-2030) and the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of the Country.
Simply put, an NDC is a climate action plan to cut emissions and adapt to climate impacts. Each Party to the Paris Agreement (2015) is required to establish an NDC and update it every five years.

  • What is the context in Vietnam concerning climate change?
  • What is the level of awareness among the population?

Morgane gives us great insights on how to raise awareness, especially among the youth and the minorities.

Have a great listening!
