We are currently facing an energy and resource crisis like we have never seen before, and even the biggest companies are calling for sobriety measures in our daily consumption habits. There is a clear mind change in our perception of unlimited and free energy and people start to understand that we need to change in the long term. This winter will be a test at a very large scale for individuals as well as companies.

Alexandre Grison works at Edmond de Rothschild on financing the new ways we can produce and store our daily energy. From wind farms, solar photovoltaic (you will hear him say solar PV in the episode), CCGT (Combined Cycled Gas Turbines: plants that combine 2 turbines, one to produce from gas and the other from the heat generated in the process), to battery technology, his field is wide!

In this episode, we mention the importance for the EU to gain some independency on their production and storage of energy, as we have been proven by the Russian-Ukraine conflict, and the OPEP to some extent. We also talk about the need to change the way we invest in energy production in order to respect the Green Deal and the environmental targets set by the EU through the European Taxonomy.

Have a great listening!
