Cheddar Frequencies, an audio portrait of a special place.

This project invites residents of Cheddar village and the surrounding areas to record fascinating stories and share amazing tales that celebrate local culture, unearth hidden memories and depict the location in a new light.

Every day in April 2023 a short monologue, less than 5 minutes in duration, will be published on Cheddar Frequencies. These spoken-word recordings will engage you, just for a few minutes, in a story told by a Cheddar resident.

These simple monologues are wonderful, find a quiet moment in your day to really listen to Cheddar Frequencies.

Cheddar Frequencies is produced by Somerset artist Richard Tomlinson and managed by Seed Sedgemoor. Seed is a charity that brings community-led creative projects to Sedgemoor on behalf of local community organisations. Seed holds the Arts Council Creative People and Places project for Sedgemoor, offering communities new opportunities to create, access and participate in creative arts and cultural activities.
