In this episode we talk about feminist movies, female characters in those movies and the growing market for them. Chloé Zhao’s Nomadland has sparked discussions on Chinese internet about feminist films and female filmmakers. Our guest Chunyu and Lindsay are two film studies students who both worked as feminist film curator before. This episode covers: What is a feminist film festival? Why everyone loves the ‘Tomboy’ character in feminist movies? What are the right and wrong things those movies did?
