This week on China Calling- Douban Wetware Music Festival just happened in Beijing and your host Vlatka caught up with Mark Reeder best known for his work on B-movie Lust & Sound of West Berlin. Reeder left Manchester for Berlin in the late 70s became Tony Wilson's Factory Records 'man in Berlin', he was responsible for bringing Joy Division to Germany, hung out with Nick Cave, founded MFS, the first independent dance music label in East Germany as well as discovered Paul Van Dyk in the 90s among many other things. Your host Vlatka caught up with Reeder about that time, techno, communism, bands like Stolen from Chengdu and bunch of other things, plus new music coming from the Wetware Douban Music Festival in Beijing.
