As a mining & metals expert, Alp Bora is passionate about making mining greener, more sustainable, and more attractive for new generations. He is creating a movement to increase awareness of the importance of mining & metals in our day-to-day life -and in the electrification of tomorrow’s economy.

Author of “Mining is the Future,” Alp helps mining & metallurgy companies improve their production throughput and achieve operational excellence. Alp spent more than ten years as an operations and maintenance professional on three continents across multiple commodities; i.e. nickel, copper, iron ore, ilmenite, manganese and aluminum.

As a leadership coach and speaker, Alp imparts insights on how to improve personal and organizational performance, and create work environments that enable the entire workforce to excel.

He is passionate about helping the next generation succeed in business. It is much easier and cheaper to learn from others’ mistakes than to learn by repeating those mistakes yourself. With that philosophy in mind, he has mentored over 100 students and young professionals.

Within the mining industry, we know that we need to do something to secure the future of our industry. But the message isn’t making its way to the general public. He provides a game plan to influence people’s perceptions and gain their support in helping to make mining a greener, more sustainable industry that will attract talented young professionals.

Born and raised in Turkey, Alp holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with a specialization in Mining Engineering from McGill University.
