Rodney Rothman was the head writer on the Late Show with David Letterman at 24 years old. When he transitioned from talk shows and sketch comedy to film, his comedy evolved into something else. 22 Jump Street, on which he was a writer, was unlike any other TV adaptations and sequels. Bobby first met Rodney while working on an unproduced project, The Something, which Rodney wrote and was directing. In this interview, he talks to Bobby about being one the writers and directors of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and how they crossed a superhero movie with an animated movie, with an animated comic book and turned it into something else: the #1 movie in the world!
