On this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories Mike and Bennett are sharing lessons learned while playing the part of guardian angel. The myth of the ‘lone wolf’ is exactly that. It’s a made up notion that a single warrior can take on a vast enemy force and appear from the dust unscathed. Battles are fought by teams. Everybody is watching their sector and, in turn, everybody has one another’s back when a fight breaks out. In that moment anyone could be a guardian angel. However, the role of guardian angel is not solely reserved for military personnel. The title may also be used to describe those who have chosen to undergo the training, and adapt their lifestyle, for carrying a concealed weapon. Being a ‘guardian angel’ means being vigilant and alert while operating in the world. Parents, teachers, first responders, concerned citizens coming to the aid of someone in distress. Anyone can be a guardian angel ...even a United States Marine posted up with a SASR, stretched out over some HESCO barriers itching to get some!
