In this episode we talk to Sam Nuttmann who is part of Motion State Media. He does some extraordinary work with the MoVI and has a portfolio that would make most of us jealous. We dive into his journey as a filmmaker, the starting of Motion State and what’s next for him.
Sam Nuttmann is a Los Angeles and Seattle based ICG Local 600 camera operator and cinematographer who specializes in the Freefly Systems MoVI. He has been shooting narrative films, documentary films, commercials and music videos since 2008 all over the world. Freefly Systems, the company that created the MoVI, hired me as a filmmaker / product ambassador immediately following NAB 2013 when the MoVI was first introduced. This gave him the opportunity to be one of the very first MoVI operators. He resigned from Freefly Systems in September 2014 in order to pursue my passion of shooting films full time.
