Our Savior Jesus is victorious over death. In John 11, we read the account of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and Jesus’ teaching around it. We can all respond by believing in and receiving Jesus as Savior. In our next steps, we grow in faith and see sharing our faith as a priority.

Let’s watch for key words and the highest priority truth that Jesus’ teaching points us to, in John 11.

To believe what Jesus said about who He is. To receive Jesus as Savior. To live in a way that is based on this reality.

“Anger” or “deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled” (intense strong feeling of concern, and with acute emotional/mental distress or turbulence)

34 “Where have you put him?” he asked them. They told him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Then Jesus wept.

“Wept” weeping which results from sorrow and grief.

What do we learn about the Gospel, aka Good News of Jesus, from this text?

2. God gives forgiveness and new spiritual life to all who believe in, and receive, Jesus as Savior.

3. The challenges and suffering experienced here and now are temporary.

4. The victory of Jesus will last forever.

How should we apply this?

1. Believe in, and receive, Jesus as Savior. Live considering this reality.

2. Look at the problems of this world as temporary.

3. Understand that enemies of Jesus will be subject to His victory.

4. Filter every thought and attitude with the Good News of Jesus.

5. Consider the stewardship of our “here and now” with eternal perspective.

What should we do about this?

1. Believe in, and receive, Jesus as Savior. Live considering this reality.
