Jesus Forgives, then Heals: Mark 2: 1-12

Why did Jesus see forgiveness as more important than making a man walk?
Wouldn’t our hearts respond with No! Heal me! My life will be all better.
Forgiving his sins would clean his heart and bring peace, joy
Forgiveness restores our relationship with God.
Forgiveness of sins is the more important issue that the man is facing.

“He desired to teach us by this that He came to cure and save souls, that the soul is worth more than the body, and that the health of the body can only avail those whose soul is healthy.”

What do we learn?
God’s priorities can be different than ours
The condition of our relationship with God and our heart is most important
God forgives and helps us in practical ways.

What should we do?
Consider God’s forgiveness for your sins.
Consider where your priorities may not line up with God’s
Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the right perspective and help you align your priorities with God’s

O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Psalm 86:5
