Label: WB 29974 Year: 1982 Condition: M Price: $15.00 The A side is one of the best hits of the neo-Rockabilly wave that swept the U.S. and England in the early 1980's. With his note-perfect first album and great songwriting (produced by Richard Gottehrer, who served up so much great rock'n'roll froth in the 1960's with such acts as the Angels and McCoys), Crenshaw seemed like a new Buddy Holly. The non-LP B side, which Bette Midler later took up the charts, is credited to 'Marshall Crenshaw and the Handsome, Ruthless and Stupid Band.' Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Warner/Reprise Records factory sleeve. It has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: WB 29746 Year: 1983 Condition: M Price: $12.00 This is a terrific, specially edited cut from the 5:03 LP version, and it's this tune that ranks the highest of all the Prince singles in Dave Marsh's Top 1,001 Singles list. And as if the A side weren't reason enough to own this classic single, the B side is one of those super-special, non-LP cut offerings Prince managed to throw around for free on his 1980s singles. Note: This beautiful copy, on the tan label with horizontal lines, has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: End 1027 Year: 1958 Condition: M- Price: $30.00 Here's a beautiful copy of this essential 1958 Doo Wop classic. This is an early pressing on the white End label. Note: This 45 record has Near Mint labels, and the audio sounds Near Mint despite some notable scuffing on the vinyl. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Dynamo 112 Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 A real sleeper, this great track sneaks up on you and demands that you recognize how great it is. Eventually, you do... and you're hooked! Take a listen and hear for yourself. Note: This beautiful pressing looks Near Mint and has pristine Mint sound. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Atlantic 2518 Year: 1968 Condition: M- Last Price: $25.00. Not currently available for sale. Here's a beautiful copy of one of Aretha's very best -- and hardest-to-find -- singles. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Atlantic Records factory sleeve. It looks Near Mint, and the grooves preserve pristine Mint sound... a real treat! (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Columbia 45472 Year: 1971 Condition: M Price: $8.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy with a drillhole--in its original Columbia factory sleeve. Check out the mp3 "snippet" of this great, lesser-known Santana track from 1971.
Label: Chrysalis 2029 Year: 1974 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 Absolutely incredible hard rock instrumentals led by drummer Powell. Powell did drumming duties for groups as varied as Jeff Beck, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Emerson Lake & Powell, and Black Sabbath. After listening to the snippet of the excellent B side, just imagine how great the A side is! By the way, this single was a non-album cut: There was no Cozy Powell LP released in the mid-1970s. Note: This beautiful copy has very Mint labels, with pristine audio on the A-side.…
Label: Columbia 74197 Year: 1992 Condition: M Price: $12.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original Columbia factory sleeve. Kris Kross were a rap duo from Atlanta -- Chris "Mack Daddy" Kelly and Chris "Daddy Mack" Smith. They were 14 and 15 when this catchy track was recorded. The A side is a "Radio Edit" of the 3:15 LP cut. The song isn't shorter than the LP cut, so the "Radio Edit" label must indicate a remix. Note: This beautiful 45 has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio)!…
Label: Profile 5084 Year: 1986 Condition: M- Price: $9.00 Essential mid-1980s techno dance pop, served up with a dollop of quirky humor. Flip is an instrumental version. This 45 has a dramatically edited version of the 6:05 album track. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Profile Records factory sleeve. It looks Near Mint and has pristine Mint sound!…
Label: U.A. 370 Year: 1961 Condition: M- Price: $15.00 One of my all-time favorite Folk numbers, this song has been recorded many times over the years -- including at least two off the top of my head, by the Beach Boys and by CCR. This is one of the nicest stock copies I've yet had in the store since opening in 2001! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage United Artists Records factory sleeve. The labels grade very close to Mint, and the audio sounds almost flawless! The vinyl (styrene) has notable scuffing. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Columbia 44094 Year: 1967 Condition: M Price: $30.00 One of my personal favorite Raiders tracks... sadly, one you don't hear often enough. This copy comes in an original, Near Mint picture sleeve. Note: The 45 record itself has pristine Mint sound.
Label: Capitol 4565 Year: 1978 Condition: M Price: $15.00 Essential Disco... Remember that guitar? That break? It's always great to hear this one again. Note: This beautiful 45 record has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), and the picture sleeve is Near Mint with just a touch of wear.…
Label: Hear 21053 Year: 2008 Condition: M Last Price: $12.00. Not currently available for sale. This release highlights two tracks from Mellencamp's 2008 album, "Life Death Love and Freedom." The A side is simply one of the best rockabilly numbers Mellencamp has ever done! From what I can determine, this single was not released for general distribution, but rather was available as a special promo 7-inch only. This is only the fourth copy I've managed to get my hands on...…
Label: Phil. Int'l. 3614 Year: 1977 Condition: M- Price: $14.00 This terrific Philly-style dance number was Carn's first chart single and became one of her biggest and most enduring hits. It's specially edited from a 4:11 album track. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Philadelphia Int'l Records factory sleeve. It has pristine Mint sound.…
Label: Double Shot 104 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Price: $25.00 This is one of the essential singles in the history of Psychedelic Rock. The flip is terrific too... I wonder how they got so paranoid? This is a first pressing, with the label name at the top of the label. Note: This beautiful copy has Near Mint labels with a touch of wear. The vinyl (styrene) looks Near Mint with a few scuffs, and the audio sounds pristine Mint! (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Dimension 1013 Year: 1963 Condition: M- Price: $30.00 Not one of Little Eva's big hits, but definitely a worthy destination for fans of Girl Group Rock... check out the mp3 "snippet" I've posted for the A side. Note: This beautiful copy has Near Mint labels, with a small abrasion on the A side. The vinyl and audio grade Near Mint ... the A side audio is pristine!…
Label: Satellite 107 Year: 1961 Condition: M- Price: $40.00 One of the greatest soul instrumentals of all time -- two incredible sides of a new sound that would eventually be labeled "funky soul." Satellite, by the way, shortly changed its name to Stax ... and the rest is history! Note: This beautiful copy has Near Mint labels, a real rarity for this release. The vinyl has some light scuffs, grading a strong EX, while the grooves preserve strong, Near Mint sound.…
Label: Sire 29840 Year: 1982 Condition: M Last Price: $16.00. Not currently available for sale. Terrific, almost-retro, power pop hit, backed with the very dark but beautiful 'My City Was Gone,' which incidentally places at #949 in Marsh's top 1001. That B side is an edited version of the 5:14 album cut. Note: This beautiful 45 has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), and the picture sleeve is nearly flawless!…
Label: Columbia 04463 Year: 1984 Condition: M- Price: $15.00 The terrific B side is a previously unreleased, non-LP cut. The A-label has two numbered stickers as well as an clear address label. The vinyl and audio are very close to mint. We are always happy to find this one with a virtually flawless picture sleeve -- no ringwear and bright, shiny and crisp!…
Label: RCA 10441 Year: 1975 Condition: M- Last Price: $15.00. Not currently available for sale. This is one of Bowie's absolutely essential singles, and you'll find that it's a specially edited version that's about half a minute shorter than the album cut. Chart Nerd Alert: In the 1970s, Bowie released some of the very best music of his career, but he only had two Top 10 U.S. hit singles -- "Fame" (a chart-topper from earlier in 1975) and "Golden Years" (which peaked at #10). His career would take off even more strongly after 1983's hit album "Let's Dance," and he had four Top 10 U.S. hits in the 1980s (oh, all right: "Let's Dance," "China Girl," "Blue Jean," and "Dancing in the Street" (w/Mick Jagger). Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage RCA Records factory sleeve. It has Mint labels and pristine sound.…
Label: Liberty 55829 Year: 1965 Condition: M- Price: $25.00 Classic Garage, plus a terrific flip. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Liberty Records factory sleeve. The labels are Near Mint with a touch of ringwear, more so on the B label. The vinyl looks Near Mint with a touch of scuffing. The audiio is very close to Mint.…
Label: Reprise 0564 Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $25.00 The B side of this monster Psych-rocker may not have charted, but I actually think it tops the Top 40 A side. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Reprise Records factory sleeve. It grades close to Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: Atco 6359 Year: 1965 Condition: M- Price: $25.00 This is one of the nicest copies of this classic single that I've had to offer since opening the store in 2001... a solid Near Mint copy with Mint audio. Check out the mp3 "snippet". (Collector's note: This release is common in conditions less than Near Mint, but copies in truly collectable condition are quite rare.) It's also worth noting that this single appears on both the Dave Marsh Top 1,001 Singles (#228) and the Rolling Stone Top 500 Songs (#451) lists! That's one of the reasons it's hard to keep in stock! Also check out Sonny Bono's stab at Garage Rock on the B side... it's really pretty nasty! :-) Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Atco Records factory sleeve. The labels grade Near Mint with a touch of wear. The vinyl looks Near Mint with a few light scuffs, and the audio sounds pristine Mint.…
Label: WB 7163 Year: 1968 Condition: M Price: $14.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original factory sleeve. OK, how many of you remember this song but had no idea what it was called? I see lots of hands out there! For Sunshine Pop lovers, this is a truly blissful experience and a must for your Association collection. Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: World Pacific 77808 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Last Price: $14.00. Not currently available for sale. After you soak in the early morning bliss on the A side, be sure to check out the B side of this great single... one of my personal favorite sunshine pop tracks, with a hook that just won't quit! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage World Pacific Records factory sleeve. Note: This scan is a representative image from our archives.…
Label: RCA 0673 dj Year: 1972 Condition: M- Price: $12.00 Stereo/Mono promo copy. This great single is specially edited from a much longer (6:54) album cut. Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage RCA Records factory sleeve. It has Mint labels and Near Mint vinyl and audio.
Label: Atlantic 89048 Year: 1988 Condition: M- Price: $11.00 The A side is an edited version of a 5:44 album track, and the B side is a non-album tune. Note: This beautiful copy has Mint labels and pristine sound. The picture sleeve is Near Mint with a touch of top-edge wear.
Label: Mustang 3014 Year: 1966 Condition: M Price: $40.00 This is one of the records, along with some of the early Beatles and many others, that demonstrated one way that rockabilly transitioned into a musical form that became known as Power Pop. Absolutely essential single -- note that both Rolling Stone (#177) and Dave Marsh (#102) put it high on their respective lists of the greatest singles ever made. Great B side, too! Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: MGM 13567 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 British singer Farlowe had success with a number of Jagger-Richards compositions in the mid-1960's, including this one also produced by Mick Jagger. Jagger has brought in arranger Art Greenslade for this recording, who adds some very effective and arty touches to the lesser-known Stones classic. Check out the mp3 "snippet" of the song. "Out Of Time" was on the U.K. version of the Stones LP Aftermath , but it was left off of the U.S. version for some reason, winding up on a compilation LP the following year. The Stones didn't release the song as a single, letting Farlowe's Jagger-produced version become a #1 hit in the U.K. and producing his only brush with the U.S. Hot 100. In the U.S., Farlowe's 45 was a non-album single. Note: This beautiful copy has a drillhole and comes in a vintage MGM Records factory sleeve. It grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: Bang 540 Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $15.00 This is one of the great early Neil Diamond singles you just don't hear anymore... As one of the followups to his smash "Cherry Cherry" (his first top ten 10), it failed to catch fire despite the great sound, with Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwich still at the production helm. Note: This beautiful vinyl pressing grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: Shelter 40238 dj Year: 1974 Condition: M- Last Price: $10.00. Not currently available for sale. Stereo/Mono promo copy. This is one of Cale's greatest tracks that nobody ever heard... absolutely delicious to the ear. Have a listen to the mp3 "snippet" to hear what I mean. Note: This beautiful promo 45 grades Near Mint across the board, with the labels having a small date penned on one side, a small stamp on the other. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Bell 45361 Year: 1973 Condition: M- Price: $10.00 Here's a beautiful copy of this hard-to-find 1973 Sweet single. Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage Bell Records factory sleeve. It grades close to Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Dolton 28 Year: 1960 Condition: M- Price: $40.00 Great single with two classic Surf instrumentals. And how about that cool picture sleeve? Woah! Note: The record grades a weak Near Mint in appearance (Labels, Vinyl) and has Near Mint audio as well. The sleeve is nearly flawless, with just a touch of ringwear. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Imperial 66216 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 To understand why this terrific single is so sought-after (and hard to find!), check out the mp3 "snippet" for the B side (which by the way isn't available through iTunes or other online services for some reason): "House on Soul Hill" is one for the ages! Note: This copy has a drillhole and comes in a vintage Imperial Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels and vinyl, and the audio sounds pristine. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Parkway 6003 Year: 1968 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 Here's a beautiful copy of this obscure 1968 single, with a cover of "Lookin' For A Love" on the A side. Nice flip as well. Note: This 45 record grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: Mercury 76189 Year: 1983 Condition: M Price: $10.00 If you own but one tune by these guys, this is definitely it! Irrepressibly joyful and infectiously tuneful, this one deserves its own place in the classic 45s "jukebox" ... so I'm adding a snippet. Now I can hear it more often! By the way, this U.S. single version is shorter than the 4:48 album track. It also differs from the U.K. version in both timing and, I believe, instrumentation. (I haven't heard the U.K. version.) Note: This beautiful 45 record has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: EMI 8231 Year: 1984 Condition: M Last Price: $18.00. Not currently available for sale. David Bowie's Pop instincts were running full tilt in the studio the day this one was recorded... Great stuff! This is the limited-edition release on clear blue vinyl. Note: The picture sleeve is Near Mint with a touch of top-edge wear. The 45 record itself has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).…
Label: Int'l Artists 128 Year: 1969 Condition: M Price: $30.00 Here's an unusually clean copy of this essential Garage/Psych hit. The flip is another argument for ALWAYS checking out B sides... this single is an amazing value in one small package! Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
Label: MGM 13813 dj Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $16.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed promo copy, in its original factory sleeve. Sunshine Pop lovers of the world unite! Here's a Greenaway-Cook rarity that will keep your toe tappin' and your mouth smilin'. This was the group's last single on Co & Ce, and unfortunately never made it onto Top 40 playlists. When MGM picked up the Co & Ce catalog, they released this one Vogues single. It would be a year and a half before the group re-emerged on Warner Bros.' Reprise label to score a couple of hits in 1968-69. Note: This copy comes in a vintage MGM Records factory sleeve.…
Label: Laurie 3464 Year: 1968 Condition: M Price: $14.00 In case you were wondering, it's the B side of this Folk classic that got Dave Marsh's attention at #452 on his list of the 1,001 greatest singles ever made. Just a warning if you're not familiar with it: "Daddy Rollin'" ain't your Mother's Dion! (We use this side to assign the 45 to a genre, although clearly "Abraham" isn't "Hard Rock/Metal" :-) Released only as the B side (not available on the album) to a familiar and comforting anthem, in "Daddy Rollin," as Marsh says: Haunted electric guitars clang and clash against one another, drums pound in from another room, uniting in a wad of noise symbolizing nothing but spelling out pain and fear... It was the scariest music Dion ever made... Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Laurie Records factory sleeve. It has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)…
