As many of you may know the clinical research industry shuts way down after halloween (31Oct). Emails start slowing down, correspondence from sites slows down and sponsor directives are punted until the following year typically around this time. Why is that? Why would clinical research take 2 months off? One of the reason is all of the holidays in the USA and all over the world during that time, like Thanksgiving and Christmas. With that comes with clinical research personnel using their accrued PTO to lengthen their holidays or if they are on the use it or lose it policy, they have to use it!
