On the October 22, 1949, Rosina “Rosie” Fazio, left her residence in Charleston, WV to go to the market and collect groceries for her local beer garden and restaurant. The details of the events that follow are vague at best, blurred by conflicting news reports and slowly erased by the years of time. The story goes that Rosina had been thrown from a vehicle not once but twice, and had sustained life threatening injuries before finally being discovered around 11:30pm. She succumbed to her injuries several days later, but not before identifying her assailant, who to this day is shrouded in mystery.
