NXT looked to put on a big fight feel on Tuesday night as they had a pair of championships on the line, a #1 contenders match and Shawn Michaels announced a new match happening at NXT: Deadline. Bron Breakker defended his NXT Championship against the bigger and meaner Von Wagner. Mandy Rose would also put her NXT Women's Championship on the line against her rival Alba Fyre in a Last Women Standing Match. Apollo Crews and J.D. McDonagh were both looking for a win to prove they deserve the right to face the NXT Champion next in a competitive singles match. Wes Lee and Carmelo Hayes have a contract signing for their North American Championship match next week.
