This week on Comes A Time, Raghu Markus joins Mike and Oteil to talk about tracing paths of mindfulness, the practice required behind achieving transformation, and how creating mental spaciousness allows us to see more idealistic possibilities in life. They also discuss the monumental importance of teachings from spiritual leaders such as Ram Dass, Dalai Lama, and Neem Karoli Baba, being selfless in the face of both love and fear, and becoming "nobody." Raghu also tells the guys about John Forté of the Fugees and his crucial contribution towards conversations about consciousness within the African American community. Raghu Markus has been involved in music and transformational media since the early 1970s when he was program director of CKGM-FM in Montreal. In 1974 he collaborated with Ram Dass on the box set Love Serve Remember. In 1990 he launched Triloka Records and Karuna Music in Los Angeles, California. Triloka established itself as a critical leader in the development of world music and for 17 years was home to such artists as Krishna Das, Hugh Masekela, Walela, Jai Uttal and transformational media projects that featured Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra, and Les Nubians. He is currently the Executive Director of the Love Serve Remember Foundation and has been an associate producer for online and television events for Ram Dass, Oprah Winfrey, and Eckhart Tolle. Raghu is the host of Mindrolling Podcast, which is about coming unstuck and the recent history of awoken awareness- it’s about the intersection of culture, consciousness and realization. ----------- *DISCLAIMER: This podcast does NOT provide medical advice.
