Jon Bernthal returns to the role of Frank Castle aka The Punisher for his solo series. Marvel's Netflix shows have run the gamut of quality and I am happy to say that 'The Punisher' has now climbed to the top of my list. Taking on the story of a murdering sociopath anti-hero isn't an easy task but showrunner/executive producer Steve Lightfoot seemingly handled it with ease. The Punisher focuses on Frank Castle months after the events of Daredevil Season 2, in which he is believed to be dead. However, he works in the shadows taking down mobsters, violent thugs, etc until he comes across a bit of evidence that reopens some emotional wounds from his time doing spec ops work in Afghanistan. His spec ops work might just be the key to understanding what happened to his wife and kids, and perhaps tells us more about Frank Castle the man in the end.
