Meet 3 living legends who paved the way for women's surfing in this sneak peek of exclusive events at The Surf Société. Kathy Kohner Zuckerman (The Original Gidget), Terry Eselun, and Lynne Boyer join us and share their experiences surfing in the '50s and '70s.
Tune in to meet:

  • Kathy Kohner Zuckerman - Kathy grew up learning to surf in Malibu in the '50s. Kathy shared her experiences with her father who was inspired to write a fictional novel based on her stories. Gidget: A little girl with big ideas sold more than half a million copies and was later adopted into 2 movies and a television series. Gidget is known for having a significant modern influence on popular surf culture.
  • Terry Eselun - Terry played an integral role in the development of women's professional surfing. Having been fed up with the way female pros were treated in competition, Terry along with Jericho Poplar co-directed the first international professional women's surfing competition in Malibu.
  • Lynne Boyer - This 2x world champion and all-around charger was known for her fierce surf style in the '70s. If you haven't YouTubed Lynne Boyer I suggest you take a minute to do so and prepare to be amazed.
