Interview w/ Curtis Eggleston on his debut novel Hollow Nacelle with Manuel Marrero, head of Expat Lit. Hollow Nacelle is a beautifully woven tapestry of mysticism, artistic malaise, burnout culture, alienation, pharmacology, and the trappings of social media and social mobility. Curtis explains the novel, as well as some details into his cryptic background, from fighting fires and teaching children in Sao Paulo, Brazil (where he currently resides), to rubbing elbows with the glamorous in Los Angeles to exiting society. Craft, patience, and the merits of slow burn vs/ instant gratification. Manuel discusses Expat and literature's resurgence, and the trajectory of the project. One of my favorite personal episodes.
