Técnica de producción de sonidos basada en la premisa de que un sonido puede dividirse en partículas, granoso cuantos, entidades sonoras de una duración de 10 a 100 milisegundos. El sonido lo producen pequeñas explosiones de energía encapsuladas en una envolvente y agrupadas en conjuntos mayores.
