In this episode, I had a very candid conversation with my friend about some of my childhood struggles with bullying. The conversation was triggered by an article I recently published on my medium page "Albinism: An exploration into My Humanity" where I shared some insights about the condition and went on to share some of my childhood experiences with self-loathing that resulted from persistent bullying. The discussion felt like an exploration on the couch of a psychotherapy session, and with a little introspection, I somehow realized how cognitive reframing as a tool both consciously and subconsciously played a huge role in navigating through some of those experiences. We also talked about the importance of having support systems and the inadvertent effect of the romantic love on a person's confidence and esteem levels. My hope is that there would be several flash points in this conversation that you will be able to connect with.

If you are also wondering if I am a person with albinism or not, you might have to read the article to get some context. But here is why it shouldn't matter, the take home point is not "Oh, but he isn't even really an albino, he shouldn't have been bullied for that", the message here is "even if I was, I should not have been bullied".

Oh! I also shamelessly plugged in my younger brother's music. if you liked it, you can listen to the full track "Away" here
