Michelle Donkin is a writer and producer and the co-founder of Brighton based Cast Iron Theatre. Our conversation begins with how childhood Michelle was inspired by Star Trek to write herself onto the bridge of the starship Enterprise before realising that exploring human relationships was more interesting than space. We talk about her time spent studying film and scriptwriting at the the National film and Television School, her move into theatre and producing and universal themes like finding your voice and creating what is authentic to you, helping others as you go and how to stay kind to yourself as you live and create.
