The Church at Corinth was a confusing place. Their message was muddled. The purpose and the 'point' of their church was unclear. Various groups were vying with each other for supremacy and the lost, unbelieving world outside was never going to 'get it'. Paul writes this chapter with a deep sense of alarm. After all, dear Christian, this is 'battle'! And we had better be ready!
