Ed Ankowiak, resident therapist at Yandara, has been studying and practicing Traditional Medical therapies, especially from Asia, for 25 years. His areas of specialization include Acupuncture/Moxabustion, Manual Therapies, the interface between Martial Arts and Medicine.

This week Ed and our host Yael Ginzburg spoke about learning from the physical, more obvious, about the more subtle layers of experience. The practical lessons we can learn from the therapies he has studied include- Learning how to breath through the survival responses of fight, flight or freeze to respond in an intentional way, setting boundaries and detecting the tension that accumulates in the body from emotional and physical trauma. This allows us to diagnose physical symptoms in order to understand the subtle layers of experience and then healing.
