On this day in 1979, LAPD raided a punk show at the Elks Lodge Auditorium. Kids were beaten, hogtied, and, it was clear, that the local police enforcement agency viewed punk as a threat which could only be dealt with through an obscene amount of force and violence.

39 years later, Cut X Cut remembers the riot with songs from X (We're Desperate), The Alley Cats (Night of the Living Dead), The Plugz (Mindless Contentment), The Zeroes (Don't Push Me Around), The Wipers (Better Off Dead), and The Go-Go's (This Town)
