If you’ve bought a monitor, computer, laptop, server, or other product from Dell Technologies since 2017, you need to be extra careful about picking up the phone. According to BleepingComputer, the world’s third-largest computer company is notifying up to 49 million people whose personal details were stolen by a cyber criminal, who scraped sales data from a Dell website for three weeks without being detected. Dell says the data isn’t important because it doesn’t include credit card details or other information – but if you’re a Dell customer, it does include details such as your name, address, and the specific products you bought. That’s catnip for scammers who are likely to use it to run phone support scams – in which they will call you up, pretending to be from Dell and offering to help protect your systems from the breach, if you would just give them access to your computer. Don’t believe them. The 60-second "Security Nudge" is brought to you by CybSafe, developers of the Human Risk Management Platform. Learn more at https://cybsafe.com
