October may be the official National Cybersecurity Awareness month, but it’s important to be cybersecurity aware every month of the year – and it’s on every employee to do their part. As October nears, the National Cybersecurity Alliance is reminding you to take stock of your own practices, and to help your work colleagues and family members think about how they protect themselves online. In fact, there are four key practices that can make a huge difference. For example, using strong passwords and a password manager makes sense, but an NCA survey found that just 38% of people use unique passwords for all of their accounts – and that a third only started using password managers after they received cyber training. The three other key practices are just as simple: turn on multifactor authentication for your important work applications and services; update your software to ensure you always have the latest security fixes; and remain vigilant to recognize and report phishing attempts. You’re likely to see official campaigns in your company as October nears – but it’s never too soon to improve your cyber practices. The 60-second "Security Nudge" is brought to you by CybSafe, developers of the Human Risk Management Platform. Learn more at https://cybsafe.com
