🚨 NEW SERIES ALERT!!! 🚨 My mom always told me that if I want to be successful in life, I need to read the book of Proverbs from the Bible, because that book focuses a whole lot on wisdom. Well, what do you know? Recently I received as a gift a 365-day daily devotional that delves solely into the book of Proverbs. What else do you know? One of my goals for 2023 is to be more consistent spending time learning more about God and growing in my Christian faith. So, the timing was perfect for me to receive this book, because completing a short daily devo is a tangible, manageable way to meet my goal. Of course, I will be reading the Bible, the raw source, as well, but this devo is literally one page a day in a tiny hardcover book - it will at least get me into the momentum of regularly chewing on food for thought on Biblical truths.

One disclaimer. What I'm NOT trying to to by sharing my devos is to have anyone look to me as a model of inspiration. You'll realize very quickly when you start listening to my upcoming episodes, that unlike my previous ones, I won't be sharing tips and takeaways for you to follow. I'm on my own faith journey, as are you, and I'm simply inviting you to take a peek. None of my thoughts on my devos are being shared to have you emulate how I process and act upon them. You're going to get raw, unfiltered thoughts. This is a safe space for me to explore and put out not only what I agree with and appreciate about the Bible but also my questions, doubts, and disagreements. All without feeling like a heretic, without being afraid to be judged for not responding to everything with "God is good, all the time; all the time, God is good." Shoutout to if you get the reference. 😉

If you've been a believer for a while, you know you don't necessarily understand every single thing in the Bible. You may have brushed those questions and confusions aside without having spent time and energy wrestling with whatever "ruins" your perfect image of God and the Christian faith. What good does that do to your faith though? A long-time pet peeve of mine in Christian group settings is any thought or sentiment that even slightly veers off into the direction of questioning the Bible is met with awkward silences and this palpable drop in mood. I'm not talking about questioning the Bible from a disrespectful standpoint by the way, and obviously, it is not like every single Christian group setting is like this, but in my experience, this kind of an environment has been common and never have I found those moments conducive to further stimulating my curiosity, being motivated to continue seeking the truth, and ultimately growing in my faith. So join me in this safe space to explore all thoughts that come to mind. God can handle them.

If you want to get your own copy and follow along, the link is below! Maybe you're a fellow Christian, a seeker, or neither. Doesn't matter as long as you are willing to stay curious and open-minded, I'd love to have you join me. 😌 Another disclaimer is that I am not referencing any commentaries or other resources as I'm doing my devo. I'm going solely off of what's on the devo. Reference those materials at your own will if you want.
