The new Albanese government’s jet set diplomacy will continue this week with foreign minister Penny Wong heading to Fiji Thursday to shore up Australia’s position in the Pacific.

Peter Dutton has formally launched his bid for the leadership of the federal Liberal Party leadership, spruiking his toughness, his work ethic and his suburban values.

Multiple alleged members of the Alameddine clan have been released on bail straight back out on the streets by the courts, just a day after police claimed they had “cut the head off the snake” one of the state’s biggest crime networks.

Taxpayers could still be on the hook for a useless survey asking drivers if they like speed cameras, despite it being sensationally dumped by Roads Minister Natalie Ward.
