President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to reject demonstrations which he says could plunge Kenya into chaos. The proposed Nane Nane march is part of a series of protests for good governance and accountability. The protesters have also called for the resignation of President Ruto. Kenyan police say criminals are planning to infiltrate the march and commit further crimes. The police said in a statement that they have deployed adequate security personnel. Mwangi Maina, a Kenyan journalist with the Kenyan Foreign Policy online publication, tells VOA's James Butty, August eighth is a historic day in Kenya.
