But so too are protesters who have been demonstrating under the #RejectFinanceBill2024 banner. They plan to occupy parliament today to force lawmakers to reject the proposal which imposes taxes on bread, motor vehicles, and other items. Kenya’s Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki late Monday called on protesters not to abuse their constitutional right to petition their government.
