Traders in Tanzania, particularly in the popular market area of Kariakoo in the capital, Dar es Salaam, have been holding a go-slow strike since June 14. The Tanzania Citizen reports the traders are dissatisfied with numerous taxes and collection methods imposed by the country’s Revenue Authority. The government says removing all taxes could affect the implementation of national development projects. This comes as Tanzania’s northern neighbor Kenya is experiencing deadly strikes over proposed taxes. VOA Swahili Service reporter Iddi Uwesu discusses the issue with Daybreak Africa host James Butty
