In this episode, we explore the profound journey of knowing Christ as illustrated by Philippians 3:10-11: “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” From childhood experiences on a farm, witnessing the wonders of God's creation, to the northern lights, and nurturing a childlike faith through Bible stories and church, our host shares their early encounters with God.

As a young woman, the host's faith deepened through studying scripture and prayer, leading to a life dedicated to God at the age of 30. Initially apprehensive about being sent to Africa, they discovered God's mission was closer to home, teaching Bible lessons to neighborhood children. Through these experiences, they learned about God's miracles, compassion, and the ultimate act of love in sending Jesus as the sacrificial lamb.

The host recounts personal trials, including the loss of their daughter, which tested their faith but ultimately strengthened their relationship with God. Memorizing scripture, such as the book of Philippians and passages from the gospel of John, became a source of comfort and strength during challenging times. Through service as a director of Christian education and a speaking and writing ministry, the host's journey of knowing Christ continues to evolve.
