“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

In this episode, Amy Olrick shares how one simple question revolutionized her relationship with God. Reflecting on John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world," Amy recounts joining a women's Bible study during her children's toddler years. An older woman's advice to ask, "God, what do you want me to see?" in times of hardship initially met with skepticism. However, as Amy faced challenges like raising three boys on a tight budget, she began to embrace this question, discovering God's provision and care in the everyday struggles of life.

Amy continues her story by sharing moments of exhaustion and desperation, where the question, "God, what do you want me to see?" brought her comfort and guidance. From the biblical account of Elijah under the juniper tree, she learned that God meets us with rest and recuperation, without guilt. In times of deep loss and heartbreak, the question became a lifeline, revealing the steadfast kindness of God through the story of Peter's betrayal and stubbornness. Amy found solace in the God who draws close to the brokenhearted and builds unshakeable faith.

Throughout life's transitions—from changing diapers to sending kids to college, through the ups and downs, and in the face of a broken world—Amy discovered that God's answer to her question remained constant: "I Am with you. I will not let you go." This episode invites listeners to find peace and assurance in the presence of God, even amidst troubles, as promised in John 16:33 and Matthew 28:20: "I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
