To have the patience of Job is an idiom to describe someone who will put up with anything. Many people know that Job is a story about intense suffering and it's often assumed that the book answers the question, "why do bad things happen to good people?" Over 7 weeks this term we are going to look at the Old Testament book of Job. We will see that it is much more than just an example of how to be patient and that while innocent suffering is real, the book is not designed only to answer why that happens.
