Wenn im Alten Testament vom "Zorn Gottes" die Rede ist, den die Schiffer zu besänftigen versuchen, indem sie Jona über Bord werfen, scheint zunächst weit weg von unserem christlichen Gottesverständnis zu sein. Dass in dieser Figur des Jona aber etwas aufleuchtet, was zum Verstehen der Erlösung am Kreuz beiträgt, wo einer für die anderen in die Bresche springt, wird in dieser Auslegung der Jona-Geschichte deutlich.
