Manage episode 334910057 series 3244716
In this episode of Digital Transformation & Leadership Danny Levy talks to Joanne Flinn a strategic and sustainability specialist who's led digital business change for over 20 years across 52 countries on 6 continents.
Joanne thinks great business is about money and meaning. It might be delivering a near billion dollar project which in the words of an IBM executive ‘that was a miracle’. Or being board advisor for an NGO whose ground breaking results are studied by the World Health Organisation for global rollout.
She's a specialist in Asia, trained at Oxford, lived in Australia. And on four other continents. Joanne's worked for every one of the big four and run a country practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers at 34. She was on the IT ExCo as head of change for DBS, one of Asia’s biggest banks.
After working with 50 organizations and a quarter million people through crises like SARS, 9/11, and varied financial turbulences well before the current COVID19, Joanne's developed a formula that helps leaders stay calm, productive and focused. Especially when you need to lead through ambiguity, navigate complexity, and multi-task.
In this episode Joanne simplifies the alphabet soup of sustainability, explains what sustainability does to directors responsibilities, and talks Danny through the risks and opportunities sustainability has to business models.
