It's difficult to read the minds of children going through the divorce of their parents. We have preconceived notions about how they cope but often, especially in high-conflict divorce cases, children are subject to a long list of additional mental and emotional deficits. Is the solution to send the kids to therapy? Not really. The solution could be to work with parents to change how they parent and think , about the truly dysfunctional parent on the other side. As we hear in this episode, expert AJ Gajjar works with parents to turn their thinking about their dysfunctional ex into empowering strategies that can preserve or repair their children's emotional health.
