podcastData1 = {"title":"DJ Five-to-Midnight","subtitle":"Live performance sessions","description":"Podcast theme: venue recordings of live performance sessions by DJ Five-to-Midnight. \r\n\r\n\r\nABOUT THE SESSIONS\r\n\r\nFive-to-Midnight is a side project by Astrid Idlewild, of accozzaglia.ca. \r\n\r\nFive-to-Midnight performances are periodic showcases for a music archival project Idlewild launched during the late 1980s \u2014 specifically to locate and chronicle music which hasn\u2019t survived the digital leap to the Cloud (or was unable to make waves across geographic and cultural barriers). \r\n\r\nIdlewild worked in music shops for almost a decade, produced a few college radio shows, and wrote a thesis on music culture content policy and nationalism.\r\n\r\nAside from producing remixes and mash-ups since 1996 (some of which are posted to her Soundcloud at \u2018accozzaglia\u2019), Idlewild, as DJ Five-to-Midnight, has performed live at clubs and lounges in Toronto, Minneapolis, and San Francisco since the late 1990s. Canadian content, Antipodean content, and selections from the cusp of the \u201980s\/\u201990s feature prominently throughout her sets, alongside works up to the present day.\r\n\r\nFive-to-Midnight\u2019s previous incarnation was as \u201cMidnight in Halifax\u201d, whose promise was to play \u201cthe other 97% of retro.\u201d This spirit of freshness lives on.\r\n\r\n\r\nABOUT THE NAME\r\n\r\nThe \u201cFive-to-Midnight\u201d moniker pays homage to the Doomsday Clock, now set at three minutes to midnight. As of 2015, we\u2019re now closer to a midnight doomsday, thanks to anthropogenic contributions we\u2019ve generously given back to our planet.
