Goldsmith Eric Trabert is a graduate of Humboldt State University, and the owner of GIA certified Trabert Goldsmiths in San Francisco. We talk about conflict gems, metallurgy, the primal and inter-generational aspects of jewelry. We also discuss the failure of our education system to teach functional trade skills and the systematic differences between the United States and Europe. Finally, we talk about the role serendipity plays in all our lives, how the term "self-made" is patently false, as we are all indebted to circumstance, to society, to history.
