Dr. Bob Shearer hosts a Nite Line that honors the military. Tess Vandiver of Spartanburg, South Carolina shares her experience of being a young female soldier in Afghanistan and tells how she maintained faith during her deployment. Dr. Brian Bolhman, a military chaplain from West Columbia, South Carolina, discusses the importance of the military oath and shares how he helps strengthen military members and their families through his book, So Help Me God: A Reflection on the Military Oath. Dr. Bolhman also informs viewers how to show appreciation for our military by participating in Operation Thank You, a project dedicated to sending thank you cards to our troops and get well cards to injured service members. Also joining Nite Line is Christal Presley from Honaker, Virginia. Christal reflects on being the child of a Vietnam Veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder as she discusses her memoir, Thirty Days with My Father: Finding Peace from Wartime PTSD. Christal reveals how she was able to reach out to her father through a thirty-day series of phone calls to better understand his experience serving in Vietnam and the anxiety disorder he lives with today. The Strait Christian Church Praise Team performs on tonight's program.
