Marius Botha is the owner and brewer at Hazeldean Brewing Co. based on Hazeldean Valley farm in Pretoria east. Hazeldean Valley is a 100 hectare estate which offers mountain biking, trail running and a weekend market. http://www.hazeldeanvalley.co.za/

Marius talks to Holger Meier about realising his dream to building his own brewery and he shares how he managed to survive for the last 8 years, since giving up his corporate gig as engineer. He talks about the value of contract brewing for startups and they discuss the importance of (farmers) markets as incubators for new businesses in South Africa.

Besides his core range, Marius also has a barrel program, where he experiments with lambics and other sour and barrel aged beers.
