World in Progress: Dreams and Clashes in Ceuta Ceuta, the Spanish enclacve in Morroco, is a small European city on African soil, right on the mediterranean coast. It's a place that most people only ever hear about from news reports, because many illegal migrants from Africa try to cross the 6.50 high fence to get into Europe ever year, and sometimes things get violent. Ceuta is often the front line of clashes between Africans trying to reach Europe in search of a better life, and a European Union desperate to keep them out. The town itself has some 85,000 inhabitants, mostly Christians and Muslims, and as a port town, trade has always been important here, as it is today. For many Moroccoans living close by, it's the place they enter every day - legally - to make a living. Jens Borchers and Marc Dugge met some of the people on both sides of the fence, to took a closer look at this frontier town between two different worlds. Kathleen Schuster presents their documentary on Ceuta. Authors: Jens Borchers, Marc Dugge Producer: Anke Rasper
