And it's not just hard to find work when you have little education and skills. Even many university graduates can't find jobs and so decide to make a living as street hawkers. Vocational training could help give more young people the skills they need to find better jobs. Some organizations are currently trying to scale up this kind of training, including the German development organization GIZ. Linda Staude has this report from Nairobi. He has been an advisor on international development and sustainability issues for many governments and institutions, includin the German government and the World Bank. Messner is the new head of the department for Environmental and Human security at the Bonn-based branch of the United Nations University after heading Germany's leading development thinktank, the German development institute. He talks about ideas and strategies to solve global problems with World in Progress. Interview: Anke Rasper Bringing the Wifi to Georgia's remote mountains https://bit.ly/2OkhPMk The small and remote region of Tusheti in the Eastern Caucasus mountains in the Republic of Georgia offers breathtaking landscapes, wild rivers, unrivaled hospitality and pristine nature. Even though only a few of the 12,000 or so Tush people stay in the mountains year round, they have succeeded in keeping their ancient rituals and traditions alive. At the same time, modern technology is helping the locals to develop their region and attract more tourists: as of last year Tusheti is online.
