On Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast this week, hosts Geordie & Michelle delve deep into iconic 70s movie Jaws and the real-life mysteries connected to it…

When Jaws was released in 1975, it was an instant box-office smash hit! But a rewatch in 2024 by Geordie and her kids left Geordie wondering – how much of this movie is based on fact and how much is ‘artistic licence’?

This week, Geordie dives into the real-life events that inspired the 1975 Spielberg classic, Jaws... In the summer of 1916 in New Jersey, USA, a series of shark attacks up and down the Jersey shore left swimmers terrified to enter the water. What happened? Was anyone killed? Listen now to find out!

Geordie then looks at the mysterious case of the Lady of the Dunes. In 1974 in Provincetown, the body of a mutilated, unidentified woman was discovered in the dunes — the very same year Jaws was filmed on nearby Martha's Vineyard. Decades later, Stephen King’s son Joe Hill made an eerie connection between an extra in the film and a missing woman. Did Joe Hill just solve a decades-old cold case? Listen to Eavesdroppin’ to find out!

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s episode, plus chat about mouldable knuckles, period pants, iconic Aussie ads from the 80s and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!
