From nu-funk, nu-swing, soul and the disco boogie till relaxing buddha-lounge mixes everything is possible. It just has to groove. Calls his music “world wide funk”. Funked up Switzerland with over 1000 live-gigs and is now discovering the digital world with the nu-influences.
Some of the tracks are taken from the compilation of ELECTRO BLUES – Vol 1. Out NOW on Freshly Squeezed.
A nu feeling – a nu listening pleasure – nu electro blues. (after the nu-swing now
the nu blues…maybe the next thing will be the nu rock…)
This mix has been made “live” at the beginning of a propeller disco-night.
It is starting with Muddy Waters, one of the first blues man of Louisiana,
where the blues started it’s way. Big Mama Thorton as well from the
missisippi corner / New Orleans, Lightning Hopkins and a little bit
later Booker T reshaked, so the nu electro blues started all it’s way.
Even the Howling Wolf has been re-swinged. What i like on this mix
is, that the tracks fitted so well each to another. Nu tracks from today,
mixed with old originals from the early sixites. At that time they called
this kind of music r&b (rhythm & blues).
So today’s cracks like Moby, Grant Lazlo and even today’s artists that
are even in the top ten like C2C had been influenced by the blues
and integrated it into their tracks. C2C even with dubstep :).
Sometimes the frontiers between Nu-Swing and Nu-Blues are even
fluent so, both styles are very similiar…of course the blues is often
more slower, around 100 beats instead of 130 for the the swing.
So i hope you will like this nu style and i’m sure you will hear in
future time even more of this style. There is so much “old good
blues music around” that could be re-shaked.
Enjoy and thanxs for your feedback, that is much appreciated.
Thanxs to the great blues artists and all the re-shakers, remixers
and re-editers for this nu kind of feeling (buy the originals by freshly squeezed)
