Is your positive thinking a form of masking, or is it producing tangible results? Have you ever thought of that before? Let's talk about why you should take stock of that right now.

The people that I tend to repel are walking motivational posters. I know that, as you heard of that, you thought of somebody. There's somebody that popped into your mind when I said that, whether it's somebody you personally know or a celebrity. I know somebody came to mind.

The reason that I have a visceral reaction to it is not because I don't think being positive is a good thing. I absolutely do. The people that give me that ick are the people with whom I just know that there's nothing underneath that's surface level.

So there are very obvious people that are full of shit and they're just doing that to have this facade to pretend like everything's fine. Or maybe that's their whole business model. The reason I'm talking about this today is for people who may not realize it.

The people that I put in that category are masking. It's something I'm very naturally inclined to pick up on. It's also something that naturally irritates me and something that I had to work on being able to redirect, because who cares if somebody else is happy or not, or if it's genuine or not? It shouldn't affect you.

I understand it's reality TV, but there's only so much they can influence or stage once the people are there. You can get into the nitty-gritty of who they pick, how they pick it, and who they put together as a cast, but that in itself is fascinating to me. And the funny thing is that with that show and some other reality shows, and just reality in general, the people that tend to break first are the ones that, on the surface, you think would not, it's not all the time, but it's most of the time.

And the reason is their happiness. Their good mood is based on their surface. It is not. It does not have a solid foundation. It's not built on anything. It has a surface, outward appearance. There's no depth to it. When there's no depth, you cannot have anything anchored in; when you don't have something anchored in, it's not sustainable.
