ELDERLY PAIR STUCK IN MALAYSIAN LIFT FOR 24-PLUS HOURS An elderly couple was trapped in an elevator in a shopping mall in the state of Ipoh in northwestern Malaysia on June 30 at approximately 3:30 p.m. local time, not being freed until the next day at around 5 p.m., various news outlets, including The China Post, report. Relatives of the pair, ages 74 and 70, filed a police report. After being freed by fire and rescue responders, the individuals were hospitalized for treatment. A relative said they have retained legal counsel.
