NAEC CONVENTION BEING HELD SOON The National Association of Elevator Contractors’ (NAEC) 68th Annual Convention & 2017 Exposition will take place in less than a month, on September 10-14 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando and Orange County Convention & Exhibition Center. Additionally, NAEC’s Mid-Atlantic Elevator Chapter is hosting its 8th Annual Golf Tournament at National Golf Club in Fort Washington, Maryland, on October 4. Contact Shawn Cowden for more information. RAIL UPGRADES FOR DISABLED IN INDIA Lifts and escalators are among upgrades being implemented at rail stations across India to ease travel for persons with disabilities, Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain tells the India International Times. Silverstein filed for a permit with the New York City Department of Buildings for the condo tower, designed by CetraRuddy. It will contain nearly 500 units within 547,718 sq. ft. and commercial space on the first through fifth floors. Like old plans for a supertall on the site, this one has a tentative completion date of 2020. The old dealership has been demolished, and excavation is expected to start once the permit is approved.
