It’s easy to become distracted when pivoting. Everything is new and as you decide which direction to move in most opportunities can seem appealing. It’s called the Shiny Object Syndrome—the ability to quickly move from one idea/project to the next because they all seem promising and exciting. As you pivot, the biggest question to ask yourself when presented with an opportunity is, “Is this project going to set me back from what my overall goal is?” If it’s going to delay your progress towards achieving your goal, then it’s not worth it. Learn how to pivot quickly.
